I had my truck in for 30k maint. they went through all the little BS stuff that they charge an arm /leg for , including the ever so classic "clean and check battery" anyway no one said squat about my front brakes. They are squealing when applied with medium pressure , it stops doing it under hard braking or extremely light braking , but seem under normal brake pressure it happens.

I notice no pulsating when stopping at all.

At 32k miles , I'm sure this will not be under warranty. Any ideas or experience's with the same issue ?

1st vehicle I ever had at with brake issues at 32k. Kinda sucks !! I would imagine it would need pads or rotors , but wouldn't you think at the 30k check up the would have said you'll need new pads soon or be able to detect something since it was only 2k miles ago.

It could be glazed pads and if there's enough meat left you could just pull em out and sand them. Works pretty well.

I might have the dealer replace them , because I also have the dreaded front brake pad rattle every time I go over bumps . Sounds like chit.

Sounds like someone has been in there before and left out the anti rattle springs!

Is there really such a thing as anti rattle springs or are you BS'n me.

Seriously, there are some anti-squeak and anti-rattle parts.
For that reason, I'd only do brakes at a Toyota dealer if I don't do it myself. Your average brake shop won't be aware of those details.

I believe pads and rotors are considered wear items and not covered by warranty. The calipers, fluid lines, master cylinder, ABS actuator, and other parts are covered by bumper-to-bumper.

I have an 05 runner that had front brake squeal really bad too. It only did it when I lightly pressed on the brake. I brought it to the stealership and they gave me new front pads and re surfaced the rotors under warranty. That was at 35,000 miles. I'm now at 39,000 and brakes are still good as new. Thanks mr. stealership:)

I took it in this afternoon , they said rotors are fine and pads had some hard spots in it , they replaced them for free , was on my way.

I was talking to them about anti-rattle springs ect , because of the noise . I was told they could not find anything , but its pretty normal..... LOL .

TOTO , does that link cover a 2006 4x4 ???? I told the serv, writer about these anti-rattle springs and he said there in no such thing , so I want to take the sheet to the dealer to educated them , so if anyone else has the problem they know , but don't want to look like an idiot so thats why I'm asking where that came from and if it covers a 06 4x4 v8 Sport.

I got that page from TIS in the 2006 4Runner Service Manual.
I don't see any differentiation for 2WD vs. 4WD, but if there was one, I grabbed the 4WD for my model.

Thanks Toto , When I go to the dealership I'm going to ask where I can get a service manual , this has come in handy more than once for info.
