33X13.50X15 will they fit?

Well I finally found a set of tires for my rig 33X13.50X15 Interco Super Swampers (75% tread) mounted on 12" wide centerline aluminum rims...got the whole set for $350 after I traded my 31" tires.

If anyone needs a set of stock Toyota alloys, let me know as mine are for sale...with a spare steel rim.

Finally to my point. After I got home I put them up to the truck and man, these things are big!. My concern is having enough room up front to turn because of how wide they are. I am going to be installing a complete Rough Country suspension lift and Swayaway torsion bars...Will this give me the clearance I need?

The next order of business will be finding a BIG set of fender flares that will cover the outside of the tire...I'm thinking 3-4 inches. Bushwackers are out of the question due to me having a 94 4runner...that and the fact that they are smoking crack for the amount they charge.

I found these for $50 a set...anyone seen them installed?

It is not as clean a look as the Bushwacker cutouts but they also don't cost $450 as set and require you to hack up your truck with a saws-all either.

I am open to advice and comments.

Thanks for the congrats...I was beginning to wonder if I'd ever find a set.

To a point, you're right but the width of the tire plays into it as well. The offset affects clearance issues around the calipers and inner wheel well.

My concern is the clearance of the inner and outer fender while in a sharp turn due to the width of these tires. I can always sell them as I got a killer deal on them. With a 5" lift, I'd hope that would give me the clearance I need with the fender wells.


Of course I could have this all turned around, that's why I thought I'd post this and get advice.

I would expect them to fit,
I have 32's on my 1 st gen with 2" body lift and turned up torsion bars as my only lift.
I had to hammer in some of the fender at the doors, but that is it.

I got mine for similar $$$ without the rims, but they only had about 2K miles on them.

Well, I've been working on the front end for a couple of days now...off and on between warming up as it's 20 degrees in my unheated garage. I basically had to remove the entire front suspension, steering system, ball joints, control arms and front diff. I have most of it back together and should finish up the front tomorrow. I am replacing the ball joints and ALL steering parts as I reassemble it.

After doing the upper and lower ball joints on my 3/4 ton Dodge Ram 2500 last month, I can say I absolutely love working on Japanese vehicles; so simple, no special tools, no bolts torqued to 240 FOOT pounds (had to use a floor jack & 3/4" drive ratchet to break the hub loose) and no parts pressed into place. Even with all the recalls, I'd still buy a Toyota before an American vehicle.

Well I finished the front end...looks quite funny. I have the jack stands pretty much maxed out on the frame and the hubs are only 4 inches off the floor. I will assemble the steering system, mount it, put the tires on, then move to the back and start the lift there. I still have to remove & replace the torsion bars too...that should be quite fun working on my back....

I'll be sure to post my pics when I'm done with the lift.

If I do a swap, it will be a turbo deisel!

Update...if anyone even reads this.

Installed the new steering system, sway bar and the Swayaway torsion bars today...the bars were a LOT of fun but not as bad as I expected. There is zero rust on this truck so even 15 year old bolts break on the first try...most with no lubricant! Sweeeeet

The truck is doing a wheelie in the garage now because the back is still stock...I hope to work on it again tomorrow...the back should be a lot easier.

Not sure yet if there is going to be enough room for the tires or not...it will be close.
