Has anyone actually tried fitting these on a 3rd gen? I saw that these were offered and had me thinking how good they'd look on our rigs

That's really wide, and almost a 37\\" tall tire, I think it would be hard to get something that big to fit without an SAS, and even if it fit, it wouldn't be great for offroading, and would be hard on the frontend.
 
Yeah the site says its like 36.7\\" or something like that. Still looks pretty sweet on some of the 80's I was checking out on another forum.
 
I remember when people said 35's wouldn't fit and now a lot of people run them. I'd be interested to see the actual difference between a 315 and a 345 mounted on the vehicle, not just by what the measurement on a website says.

I'd almost be more concerned with rubbing the uca. I've barely got room now with 1.25\\" spidertrax

I think the issue would be more in regards to the tire rubbing the pinch weld and the frame. Prob gonna have to tub those fenders and cut the pinch weld back a bunch. You might as well take the money you'd spend on the tires and put it towards a SAS hahaha you already got 35's!!
 
The difference is functionality and purely for looks.. Cus unless you're going for just looks, you're gonna have a hard time getting any kind of functionality out of your 4Runner with those size tires on. Not to mention It's going to take a lot of work and you'll find yourself breaking more parts than the average person running 35's.
 
Just saw a member post in the picture gallery a few days back running 325/80/16's. Gotta try to not spend any money and replace my duratracs lol.

Next day off I'm going to see if any local shops have any in stock and do a test fit.

Man those look huge. I still like those 345's. At 36.4" without the weight of the vehicle it could be pretty close to 35" on the vehicle.

Well the 345 isn't really a 37. Bfg says its 36.4 and that's just mounted on a wheel, not the vehicle. And they're known for over estimating the actual size. My duratracs are 34.8 new so between the two sizes, its probably an inch difference at best. I'd still be more worried aboutthe uca first as I have very little clearance as is with 315's and a spacer.
 
Just curious what benefit would these tires give you? I'd be affraid to damage too many suspension parts with such a big tire. Considering, you can conquer Moab in a 4Runner with 33's.... why go to 36.4"?

Sorry if I'm sounding negative.... that's not my intention. Just find that some guys get caught up in the "I've got bigger tires than you do!" game, and end up ruinning a perfectly, well built rig.

Not to mention.... the cost added to purchase such a big tire, and the MPG hit you'll take. Have you re-geared when you moved up to 35's?

Id be prepared to buy larger spacers or new wheels. What backspacing do you have on your wheels now?
 
Sounds like you may also be forced to get some aftermarket UCA's and larger spacers to avoid scraping the sidewalls especially at full droop. 345 equates to 13.58" wide. But then BFG is undersized compared to other tire manufacturers.

Well my duratracs are very hard to balance and if I'm going to replace them I wanted to see what my options were. I'm running the stock limited 5 stars so I'm not sure what the back spacing is on those. Possibly looking at the level 8 wheels or those scs f5's look pretty sweet.
I just thought if the actual difference to the 345 km2 was only an inch it might just work. My other option I'm looking at it either the mtr's in a 315
