I have 258,000 on my 03 and it also is all still original as yourself and mine looks identical and still runs and handles like a champ. I dont have an oil catch or coolant filter but strict on my oil changes , even my fiance is nazi about it being at 3K and always using Mobil 1. I love to see and here this kind of stuff. At 350K to still have trust in knowing your vehicle can go cross country to down the street, still rolling all of it originals parts like an OG give it up for 03'.

And I always seem to notice when people are looking for 4th gens and ask what years to stay from, people always include 03' being the first year and having issues. Wrong try again its more so the owners have issues.

Keep doing what your doing man, you got 400K no problem,
just like the first 350K.

3000 is when i tell myself i need an oil change which translates to 4000-5000 by the time i get around to actually doing it.:heh:

Are you the original owner? I've had my 4Runner for 10.5 years and have 122,000 miles. This is only the 3rd vehicle I've ever owned, I'm also 36. It'll be another 10 years before I catch up to 350,000. WOW!

That's awesome to hear. I have an 06 SR5 4x4 with 70k miles and do religious oil changes at every 5k miles. I bought mine 2 years ago with only 30k miles. I got a gem. Only issues I've had are the door lock actuators but I've fixed all of them.

What big services have you done to the car if you don't mind me asking. Any differential and/or transmission fluid changes?

Thanks guys. The only thing to go wrong was the wheel bearing going out at 208k miles and taking my driver side axle out. I also changed out the auto tensioner because it was making bearing noise. No big maintenance just all fluid changes. Upgraded to WH calipers and 338mm rotors because I tow and they seemed to help with stopping. Will keep trucking!!!

On the pcv catch can, it works. Had one since around 200K and have caught so much oil that would have been ingested by the engine. Do a little tuning for the import crowd and have data logged up to a .2 swing with a catch can on. You just get a little bit cleaner burn with a can on.

Would take almost 40 years to get mine to 350k. Lol Was wondering how the engine sounds with that kind of mileage on it. Can you tell that it has that much on it? I'll bet that there are plenty of 150k engines that wish they looked that clean. Since you're talking replacement in the not too distant future, will you get another Runner?

im interested in the larger filter, but I have a question.

as the filter is much larger, do you see a problem with running the motor dry as the filter fills up after a fresh change?

on my other cars i usually pre fill the filter before i install it. With the filter being upside down I dont think this is an option.

My '13 SR5 4x4 just hit 45,000 miles, so I guess I've still got at least 305,000 miles of reliability left with it......And I'm religious about maintenance too - doing oil and filter changes at 5000 mile intervals.
