3D Maxpider Classic Mats?

Anyone have these installed that can share a picture? I've done some searching, and didn't really come up with much.

I'm specifically looking for the classic (carpet) ones, preferably in black. Some of the pics I found online make the black look like an odd color.

And since I know I'll get the inevitable recommendation: I'm not interested in Weathertech or Husky liners. I've had them both, and I'm not a big fan of either. I really just don't like the look and feel of rubber / plastic mats in general, but like the protection they offer. Years ago, I had a set of carpet Catch All floor liners in a Yukon I owned, and they were the best mats I've owned. These Maxpiders look to be pretty similar.

Funny that you mention this. I literally ordered a set of the Kagu mats yesterday. I bought weathertech mats a year or so ago when I bought the 4runner and immediately sent them back. I don't love the hard plastic either so I put some generic Goodyear mats in from Costco.

I should get them thursday. I'll put some pics up. I assume the Kagu and Classic have the same shape just different material on top.

Interested in seeing these too. I did some looking a few weeks ago and couldn't find anyone with pics / reviews either. They certainly look promising.

Glad you brought this back up to the front. Yes. And they are exactly what I wanted. - excuse the dirty carpet.

These are the version with the rubber top surface. It's much softer than the hard plastic that the maxliners and similar are made of. But not as soft as normal rubber floor mats. Something like a hard rubber. I can't think of anything that's similar. Maybe sort of like the dash cover on the 14+.

The mats are flexible and have almost like a velcro type material on the bottom. Once in place they aren't going anywhere. But it's not hooked little spikes like real velcro - so it won't be hard to take out.

I bought max liners and returned them because I didn't like the hard plastic feel. Between the two - I'll take these without question. They are a higher quality feeling product. If I didn't need to wash mud out of them regularly, I'd go with carpet. I'll probably buy the carpet ones for my wife's car.

How is the "3D" emblem attached? Does it appear removable with out damaging/ leaving a hole?

I haven't looked closely at it. It's sits back behind where your feet sit and basically out of sight when you're in the car, so I didn't try to take it off. But I think it's just two plastic pegs that go through the mat. Could probably cut it off with minimal effort and leave two small holes.

Hmm pegs that sucks. Like the idea of the classic mats and your kagu look good also

Does the passenger side mat also have the holes for the OEM attachments?

In one of the few posts I found about these, the poster's driver side mat was like yours, yet the passenger side just had humps molded into the mat to go over the OEM attachment points. Seemed a little strange.

The passenger side has one clip and one hump. My guess is that there must be some model that has only one passenger side clip so they can use the same part on both. It doesn't move either way.

The advantage of doing humps vs the OEM attachments would be that the mat would hold a large spill of liquid. Otherwise the liquid is going to go through the holes for the OEM attachments. But if you're going to use one, you might as well go with two.

I bought these mats first thing when I got my new 4R in October. They have held up greatly, and I couldn't be happier. I bought them because I liked how the material aesthetic was very similar to that of the dash, and I also thought they looked to have a good amount of tread. I've put mine through mud, rain, and just general wear. They do show dirt quickly, but they also wash easily. I will post pictures when I have time.

As promised, here are some pics of the carpet (Classic) version of these.

A couple of initial impressions:

I'm very happy with the fit.

The riveted on logo is ugly.

Attachment of the passenger side is exactly like Jetboy described, and makes no sense. Why they would put both anchor points on the driver's side and only one on the passenger side is just stupid. I'm going to remove the unused anchor from the carpet on the passenger side. Seems like if I don't, it will get crushed eventually.

The material is hard to describe. Definitely not like normal carpet, but I expected that. Seems like it will be really easy to clean like they claim.

No idea how durable they will be, only time will tell. They were only $128 shipped, so I'm not all that concerned.

In all, they seem like exactly what I was looking for - something with similar coverage to a Weathertech or Husky, without being rubber or plastic.

I just got a set of these and painted the logo a flat black. It's nearly invisible now. Looks great and fits great.

Would it be possible to add your own second anchor point on the passenger mat? These are my favorite so far over Husky and Weathertech but damn them for screwing up the passenger side.

I've got the all weather mats (not the carpet) and I really like them. They blend into the Trail interior real well to boot.

I wouldn't worry about the 2nd passenger hook, these things don't move because they have 'velcro-like' material on the underside. There is also room for the the second hook so it fits nice. See below (dirty truck):

I've had them for about 5 months now, and the weird passenger side mounting arrangement is a non-issue.

Still not sure why they would mold that hump into the mat instead of just putting in the second attachment point though.

BTW, the mats seem to be holding up fine, and they do dry way more quickly than normal carpet mats when I hose them down.
