I'm so desperate for a cup holder. I don't even have a center divider anymore. I accidentally dumped a whole wobbly pop into my center console and it went all under the carpet...

I'm not gonna lie, you deserve some sort of medal of honor for putting up with your cup holder situation (or lack thereof) for this long :trophy:

I have access to a printer at work - any chance you would be interested in selling the .stl file? I'd be more than happy to sign documents swearing that I wont print any other than for my own personal use....

nice work one these, TiN! have you ever thought of making two separate inserts? i almost always have my big hydroflask with me and it doesn't look like it will fit in your insert. would be nice to have a single side w/insert for those days when i have my HF and my coffee. either way, thanks for making this. 4th gen owners have been waiting a long time for it.

That's the way he designed it, with one or two inserts. This is described in the post where he tells people how to order. You can get one insert or two.

what i meant was only one side of the actual cup holder, not just the insert. the cup holder is one piece and holds two separate inserts. my daily is a big ol' fat hydro flask and it doesn't look like it'll fit in this cupholder, even without the colorful insert.

So I got my cup holder delivered the other day and installed it tonight. I used a high temp hot glue gun to glue the two parts together. My cup holder came with cutouts for the OEM lights in the cup holder area but I went ahead and enlarged them with a Dremel. I used some double sided tape in the middle of the cup holder to help hold it to the 4runner. I took some pictures of it installed and with various cans, bottles, and cups.

Fits these 16 oz bottles like a glove.

Soda cans also fit perfectly.

This big Rtic cup almost goes to the bottom but the slight taper of the cup holder prevents it from doing so. Still, I don't think it would spill and I rarely use this cup anyway.

These 32 oz cups fit great also with the insert removed.

One thing that doesn't really fit are these Camelback bottles. They do go into the cup holder some but I don't think it's enough to keep them from falling out. I can guarantee you this will probably be a gripe of my wife as she uses these bottles a lot.

Still I feel these cup holders are a big improvement over the OEM cup holders. I primarily have a 16 oz watter bottle with me so it will be nice not having that flop around. These cup holders also fit a beer bottle pretty good for those that are interested.

I do have a few points of constructive feedback. 1. I wished the gaps around the top plate were a little tighter but it's nothing I can't live with. 2. My cup holder had some rough edges on the bottom that I had to knock down so it could fit right. Not a big deal but maybe there's a way to "clean them up" a little before shipping them out. 3. Is there a way to make the main section one piece?

I do want to say thanks again for making these and offering them to us.

The shape/size of the cup-holder definitely involved some compromise. Retrofitting a circular holder shape into a tapered rectangular slot required the tapered design that admittedly rejects some larger bottles. My thought when making it this way was that many of the larger bottles are close-able, so I focused on making most "open containers" fit perfectly (such as fast food cups, soda cans, etc.).

I'll check on the top gap issue, the ones I've been checking have seemed fine, but the print orientation may have led to some unaccounted-for variation. If I'm able to optimize this, I'd be glad to send you another top portion.

The roughness on the underside is a result of the printing process, something I overlooked. This will be fixed on future units.

I would have preferred to print the main section in one piece, and it was something I experimented with. But due to the characteristics of 3D printing, it was something that wasn't feasible in terms of efficiency and quality.
