3D Printed Cup-holder Insert

Ordered Friday and already received shipping notification! I’ve been wanting this for a while, I’m excited. Good job on the website!

I hated the front cup holder in the 4th Gen ever since I bought it and couldn’t find a suitable replacement so I started making this last year. It got put off but I’m ready to start casting these in epoxy resin.

Cool, but also, this is someones post about their design/product, so not necessarily the right place to post this.

Jbragg923 , I see this was your first post and I see no problem that you posted your solution for the cup holder issue here but I agree with JVC that when you went a bit further and mentioning that you intend to start producing your version is out of line in this topic and a blatant hi-jacking of TiN's topic to further your own agenda, definitely a NO NO on any forum, IMHO!!

I’d like to apologize to everyone. I in no way meant to step on any toes or hijack anything. I can not find a way to delete my post. If anyone can help me figure out how to do so I will gladly bring it down. I’m new to the forum and apologize for not knowing the code of ethics. Still trying to figure out this forum thing. First one I ever joined. TiN I did not mean any disrespect with this post and I know the time and effort you have put into your product and website. This was not a deliberate attempt to undercut the work you put in.

Sorry I didn't welcome you to the forum in my last post...so welcome!!

I figured you didn't realize your error, so I would say no harm no foul especially with you posting your sincere apology, I don't think it necessary to delete your post, I can't speak for TiN but I think he will feel the same.

I would recommend that you work towards the 10 to 15 post minimum that is required to start your own topic and then post your solution for all to see, many may find it of interest to them and may like to have one.

TiN can be a little hard to get ahold of too. Great stuff if you can track him down! But this cast holder option looks cool. I'd advise you start your own thread. Welcome!

Can anybody advise how to install this? The cup holder sits in place nicely but the trim ring is odd, like it needs to be glued down? Is this right or am I missing the boat here?

You do, in fact, need to superglue the top plate to the insert. I was befuddled as well. Make sure the arrows are pointing the same direction, add superglue around the circles on the plate, place it on a counter or some such surface and add some weight to it to hold it down and fuse properly.

That's what I figured, thanks.

I’ve had this a couple weeks and finally painted it and took a picture. Fits perfect! Thanks again @TiN

Tin,
I don’t know if you are still active here or selling these.
I just
Got my first 4Runner and the cup holders are horrendous!
I need one of these badly.

I have a set of these. I took them out of my 4Runner before I sold it. Let me know if you're interested.
