Prevents damage to the valve stem from loose rocks. OEM valve stems can be easily damaged. OEM TPMS sensors are one piece and stem replacement is impossible without replacing the entire sensor. This cap directs the force from an impact into the stronger lower valve stem and surrounding wheel preventing damage to the delicate stem end.
