3m protective film rough cost??

Hey all!
Just got this 2011 SR5 in Salsa Pearl.. Lovin it but driving through the land of eternal road work, (Read- The Capital Beltway..) I've already got a chip in the hood.. I was wondering, does anyone have 3m film installed? How much was it/did you pay? And how do you like it so far???

Hey Man,

I had reservations about the film. Went ahead, and had Ventureshield installed on the hood and front quarters. The stuff has been perfect. Really can't see it, and I had no problems with installation. YOU MUST FIND A GOOD INSTALLER. This is the key without question. My guy was one of the few authorized installers in my area, and I travelled a fair distance to get to him. I would say, "Go for it!" and do not be afraid to pay a little extra if you find a quality installer--ask for references. I believe that the entire T4R set would have run me $800. I am still considering some more work because my experience was so positive and I am so surprised by the quality of the product.

Mine was $300 for the front end, hood, lights, and mirrors. People have said they paid anywhere from $200-$300 to have it professional done.

My only suggestion would be to make sure the installer uses 3M products. There are a bunch of threads on this already if you do a search.

i drive on mountain roads very frequently, lots of rocks flying around. i was on the fence till i got a chip on my bumper 2 weeks after leaving the lot. i paid an arm and a leg to get the whole front done, 24" up the hood and sides, headlights, mirrors, pillars and door handles. havent had any issues thus far. well worth the cost imo

i had just the hood done in 3m by an authorized 3m installer. cost was $150. ive done my last 3 cars with a 3m hood strip and it keeps the chips away.

i have no idea about this stuff, never heard of it. So it's like a clear film that is applied to the hood and other parts? Is that basically what it is? I'm assuming that when a rock flies it will hit the 3m film rather than chipping the paint.
