greetings! i have a few questions. any help on any of those issues would be of great help! thanks!
1. the car drives straight - more or less - but the steering wheel is slightly skewed toward left, probably 5 to 10 degrees, definately noticible and annoyes me as hell. i talked to a service manager at toyota dealer and he said they can do wheel alignment but it may or MAY NOT fix the problem. i was like, what? you would do a service that may not fix the problem? i told him all you have to do is pop the steering wheel out, correct the angle, and put it back. but he said they don't do that.
my question is, is it not as simple as poping the steering wheel out and put it back together? what would be the possible cause for this?
2. my car has about 110k on it. i know i will have to replace timing belt soon. about 20k ago, i took my car to the local garage for a check up and they said i should replace radiator hoses and some gasket (the name i forgot) pretty soon. like i said, that was 20k ago and the car's been running just fine. when i do the timing belt done at the dealer, is it advisible to do other preventive maintenances as well - such as radiator hoses and those gaskets?
3. i have engine check light on - plus trac off and trac svs(?) light on - for the total of 3 lights. i was gonna take the car to the dealer immediately but the car runs just fine - no change at idle, while at drive, etc. that was about 2000 miles ago. i'm about to take the car to the dealer for the regular oil change and address this issue finally. can u guys give me head-ups on what the issue might be and/or how expensive to take care of this issue?
