3rd Gen 231mm Caliper Swap: 16" wheels without grinding?

Will Toyota Tacoma 16" TRD Off Road wheels work with the 231mm caliper swap? I am having a difficult time visualizing which wheels will look good on my 96 limited and i don't want to grind the stock wheels. If anyone has pictures of other styles I would like to see them.

Those need big wheels spacers to stick out as far as stock rims so i would have to say no they wont, but i could be wrong...

I just bought a pair of these and are getting mounted now are you positive these need spacers to stick out as much as stock 16"s. Such as the 3 split spoke rims

Clearly, John was only guessing.

I don't have one of these wheels poking around to test on my front brakes, otherwise I would tell you.

Try Yotatech, someone there might have them.

Fonerunner had a set, he had to get 2.5" spacers for them to look right. Look up the backspacing and offset on them and compare to your old wheels...

This isn't right, those wheel I believe only have 0.5" additional backspacing, not 2.5". They will fit fine stock, not sure about over the Tundra brakes, but they definitely fit over the stock brakes.

I had a set of those so I had measured the backspacing (It was right around 5"). I ended up selling them to get a set of 5-stars to match my stock wheels instead.

Look for people's build threads that have them (look here, yotatech, ih8mud, etc, I know there are a couple that have them), one of them is bound to have the tundra brakes as well.

or find someone close to you who has done the upgrade and do a test fit.

I put some measurements in one of the main t4r.org Tundra brake upgrade threads with some measurements for necessary caliper clearance... You could take some measurements with the wheels on and check against those.

These have a 5" Backspace, I just sold mine because they won't fit a 231 upgrade
