3rd Gen 3.4 engine swap and interchangeability?

Hey all,

I'm thinking of going with a JDM motor to swap out for my currently blown one. I'm looking at getting one that i'm not certain the year of and was wondering if there is any real differences between the years that could make installation a pain in the ass? I'm having a mechanic do the install as i feel it's to much of a undertaking for me at this time.
