3rd Gen Accidents

While I, fortunately, have not been in any wrecks with my 4Runner (I bumped into a Subaru once), I know a lot of you have had crashes with previous 4Runners or your current vehicles.

I don't think this thread idea has been done yet on this forum, so I thought why not post your pics and your stories from any accidents you guys have had. I figure it doesn't necessarily have to be about your 3rd Gen, but for the sake of keeping it in this subforum, let's say it is

Oh, have I got a good one for you. First the aftermath:

The story: my daughter's boyfriend borrowed the truck from her at school to go to a friend's house over lunch. He got distracted by something (who knows) and ran off the road. Fortunately, she wasn't with him during this unauthorized use of my motor vehicle.

The truck was totaled. They are no longer dating.

Nope, I'm on my 3rd 3rd-gen. The '00 SR5 was the replacement for the '99 Ltd that was wrecked, then got a '00 Ltd since the SR5 went off to college.

The wreck wasn't that bad, the battery wasn't even damaged. Just cost too much to fix and didn't want that albatross around anymore.

Not a Third Gen, but 2 months after I got my 97 Toyota T-100 I got in a 12 car pileup on the highway due to ice. I had liabilty only, and the officer deemed it a act of nature. I got nothing! Even my lawyer said there was nothing he could do.

It was mint, and I just threw about $1000 more into it after I got it. (bilsteins, etc) It made me quite mad, some teenage girl was going around a bend to fast, and started the whole thing. I was second to last in the pileup. It was on a highway, and a blind turn. Once I saw the pile, it was to late. Turned right, and basically slammed my drivers side into the pile, and front against the concrete wall. There were many hit and runs into the pile also, as it was 2am. I got hit by a semi, and he backed up and left also! As soon as I hit the pile, I got out and ran to the side of the road, or else I may have been even more injured. (broke my finger, and hurt my back, head).

I was able to part it out and get $2500 of my $7500 investment back. :ak472:

Some idiot cut me off outside campus with about 4-5 feet to react going approx. 40mph. spared her life by turning into a curb and it slung me onto the red car which hit the other one. This is what bought my arb and started the madness haha

First time.

some random bloke decides to push my rear left bumper a little bit in.. and took off without notifying us.

second, some chick on campus ran into the front door.. had to replace the door..

thirdly, some dude in a Nissan pick up ran into the front bumper..

fourthly, 2 deers ran into the 4runner in 3 days.. the second deer, made a good push on the rear door..

unfortunately though, I didn't get around to take pictures of it.

heres my 91 4runner had the swing out tire opt had less than 200k thing was mint looked brand new... had it a whole week tell some drunk driver thought it be cool to pull out in front of me i was doin 55 had really no time to slow down

My fiance's 1998 SR5... We were headed out to go see a movie and a lady ran a stop sign and t-boned us in a Ford F150. The truck was driveable, but the accident bent something in the front suspension and it had some major negative camber. The entire radiator support was pushed toward the pass. side about an inch, plus all the surface damage you see in the pics. Totalled. Luckily she didn't hit the driver's side door or my fiance could have been seriously injured. I wasn't wearing my seatbelt and I got thrown almost into the driver's seat and cracked my knee on the shifter hard enough to bend it an inch or so toward the drivers side. We bought the truck for $7500 and got paid $9000 by the insurance co for it. Turned around and bought a 2000 SR5 with less miles and all the same options.

This one's red, and not MY roll over. The guy I bought it from was heading up north to go camping from Miami when he rolled this '96 Limited on the Florida Turnpike. His pass. rear tire blew which caused the roll. He only suffered a few scrapes & bruises. Sux for him since he just did the timing belt / water pump, new A/C, Brake booster, 3" OME lift, ARB bumper.
Cool for me cause I bought it & am parting it out
