3rd gen audio question

got all my wires installed but im not getting power to the amp. there is a blue with white stripe wire coming from the headunit and i hooked this up with the remote but then there was no sound from the radio/cd etc. so i hooked up that back with the other blue white stripe coming from the harness. what do i do?

Do you have any pics? Did you run the wire from the battery with a fuse? Maybe the fuse blew? Is it grounded?

the fuse is still good. for the ground i drilled a nail along with a nut holding down the ground wire.

I would use a metal screw. Sometimes nails are galvanized (coated) and the metals might not be touching one another. That could be the problem.

As a suggestion that really helped me with my install, try using the "Search" function on this board using key words like "wiring harness" or your specific HU model as an example (use anything specific related to your question limited to 2-3 words or less). Chances are, you'll find a lot of answers from previous threads. You'll get that "A-HA" moment.

the blue and white wire is the remote from the headunit. But its connected to another blue white wire coming from the harness and when i disconnect it i get no sound.

ok amps are simple you need a power wire, ground, remote lead (blue) and rca cables. i dont know if you installed them but they are what syncs your head unit to your amp. Rca cables are the cables that pretty much send the signal from your head unit to your amp without these you will get no sound. If you have already installed it i would suggest trying a different ground cause on my old sub it just cut out and stopped working one day then finally after me and a few friends checking it out we realized that the ground which looked to be good was a bad ground. We figured this out by taking jumper cables attaching them to the -neg side of the amp then attaching the other end to to the latch that the door latches to (the silver part that the door clicks to) hope this helps
