Hey Everyone,
I read a post from [MENTION=98153]MStudt[/MENTION] recently explaining how his 4runner was broken into and the thieves stole his backpacking gear. He already had duplicates for the some of the gear but he could use a new backpack. For those of you that are outdoor enthusiasts, you know good gear is not inexpensive.
Mike recently tried to be one of the winners of a Backpack Give-away but he wasn't one of the people selected.
I've been a victim of theft in the past and I'm sure many of you have as well. It's a really crappy feeling. Yes we have insurance to deal with things like this, but there's deductibles to pay and there's also the pain of dealing with the insurance company representatives. Regardless if the claim is accepted, he's still going to be out money for his deductible.
I believe this forum is a great resource for those of us that like doing our own repairs and/or modifications and it's guys like Mike who make this forum very successful. Mike has over 3000 posts which tells me he's been very willing to take time out his schedule to respond to posts and help people out.
So, in order to show Mike there's more good in humanity than bad, I'd like for us to raise the funds for him to get him a new backpack. He's already tackled some pretty big adventures and he's got more planned like hiking the Colorado Trail and the Pacific Crest Trail so he's going to get some good use out of this gift.

When you send him money, please be sure to use the option, "Send money to friends and family" so no fees are charged from the donation.
If you do make a donation, please post a reply like "Donation Made" so this thread stays on the first page of the forum and more will see it.
Mike said the backpack he wants is $200. If a bunch of people make a very small donation, we'll reach the goal pretty quickly and easily. Some would say this is not a worthy cause but I couldn't disagree more. It's just a nice gesture to someone who has been victimized. Let's show him how strong this community is!
