They finally arrived. Found a guy out of Russia and ordered up 10 of these babies!

Cleaned the blower fan and installed it today. Genuine Carbon Cabin Air Filter.

Took me longer to clean all the crud off the blower fan. Keeps all the dust out of your blower fan!

I'd love to have a functional cabin air filter, but can't see the feeble blower in my 4Runner (with the warped and leaky ducting to the vents) delivering much through these, unless the fan is set to full power, which is....extremely noisy.

the fan won't be blowing through the filter. what is filtered is the air coming from the fresh air intake from the grille above the firewall. so the fan will still be blowing the air coming from the foot well and mixed with the filtered air

My biggest issue is, how long do they last? If they're a hassle to get it seems like a bit of a novelty to me

OK, now I see that the filter isn't in the dashboard vent.

All the air goes through there. The blend door for inside/outside is above the filter if I'm looking at it correctly.

In any case, it takes longer to remove all the crap from the glovebox of my wife's Subaru than it did to install this filter. I spent more time cleaning all the baked on crap on the fins of the fan.

I am placing an order for 30 more of these this week. If anyone wants to pre-order I will accept payment now.

I just heard back from my overseas builder. He has revamped the design and it now has 200 percent more filter area. The new batch will run a bit more.

I will update the main post with pictures of the updated filter soon.
