3rd Gen Cargo Cover in a 2nd Gen

I recently bought a used 3rd gen rear cargo cover from the local toyota dismantlers with the hopes of modifying it to fit in my 1993 4Runner. I got the rollout cover and the brackets that it slides in. Has anyone attempted to put a 3rd gen cargo cover in a 2nd gen, or do you have any ideas of how I should go about it?

I had the rear panels taken out of my 4Runner today, but I wasn't able to find I very good way to mount the brackets.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. If you have any pictures of some custom installations that would be awesome.
