3rd Gen Clutch Issues

I have a 98 4Runner that used to have a squeaky brake. That has since stopped, but the clutch pedal has been sticking halfway. I pop the clutch back up with my toe and it's all good, but recently the brake light has been coming on when the clutch is depressed. When it started the light was on for at least 5 minutes after I start the truck. Now, it turns on and off when I shift, but sometimes it stays for a few minutes. What do I do?
I'm sure this is on a thread somewhere on this site but I couldn't find it.

Most likely the clutch not returning all the way up is due to a missing plastic bushing. If the metal where the bushing rests is grooved from wear, try a more lasting fix:

I have no explanation for the brake light issue.

could just be low on brake fluid. check the levels on both the clutch and brake reservoirs. both may need a bleeding as well.
