I can't say I ever had shuttering of the clutch on a Toyota unless it was shot.
My last one was so gone. That I lose the clutch clamp trying to lightly accelerate.
It's possible though. I know how you know your clutch is done. Is on a real hard acceleration up a hill. If the clutch brakes friction and spins freely its done.
Another test. Is to put the rig on a steep hill. With nobody around, stop and start several times to see if it brakes loose. Should Stull out before pressure plate declamping and clutch spinning occurs.
