I did a search and i couldn't find a definate answer on how to get constant 12v power to the outlets for a 3rd gen 4R ('99). Any ideas. I saw the great pics for the 4th gen. didn't know if there were any for the 3rd gen.
A very easy way to do it, would be to cut one of the switched ACC wires, and replace it with a CONSTANT wire (from the radio, or the ignition harness)
If you take the wire from the radio, you cant put any high-amperage uses to it (power inverters and such), but cell phones, radar detectors, etc are fine
thanks. It would be nice to find a way to make all of the outlets constantly powered (as i've seen demonstrated w/ the 4th gens). I'm gonna see if anyone else has any ideas. If not, i may do as you've suggested. btw, i'm just wanting to install a small flashlight charger...low amps. Thanks again.
