Made no sound. Just was trying to keep up with traffic, hit the gas and realized I was decelerating. Engine was dead. Made it to the shoulder. It had gas and would tun over but no start.
The next morning it started but it was knocking and chugging real bad. Not driveable.
Checked the plugs. It has blown 3 so far since I bought it and I timeserted them. About every 2 years it seems one blows --included that for background only.
This does not seem the same. And as I mentioned--plugs were OK.

4cyl or 6cyl? auto or 5speed?
what year?
check fuel pump fuse, but you said it started so idk?
check maf/plug.
check spark plug wires, I had a mouse chew one off before!

I wouldn't rule out an ignition problem though. Toyota's don't just blow spark plugs for no good reason. Hard to say though... you might just have to start checking things until you find a culprit.
