3rd gen pully squeak

so the pulleys for the fan belt and alternator and all that, have recently started to squeak pretty loud, to where i can hear them from inside the cabin. any idea what i can put on them to stop the squeak that wont harm the belts?

probably the idlers going out, which wont be helped by belt dressing, just have to change them. Obviously my fist gen. is different, but mine had an idler for the timing chain howl...very annoying, but fixable on a long afternoon.

well so far some belt dressing has done the job... but only time will tell

The dressing will wear off though, so check it every once in a while. You may have a belt that is just loose.
