3rd gen--removing the headliner?

I bought a used '01 4runner and noticed this funky smell. I've taken out all of the seats & carpet and would like to remove the headliner. I was told that it may be glued into place. Does anyone know if I can simply remove the molding and pop it out?

I'm going to try to remove the headliner tonight. I talked to someone at a junkyard (looking for seats) and he said that I may have a leak in the moonroof that is running down one of the pillars.

Do you think that the damage done by the roof leaking would be covered under an extended warranty?
