3rd Gen rocker rot???

I was just wondering if anyone had or have heard about the rockers rotting off these things? I have a chance to buy a 00 but the rear rockers are gone! I would like to buy it as it has low miles but am worried that their might be more rot hiding if this is the case or wouls have the running boards caused this to happen as they are not on there anymore. any help would be great

My guess is that if the rust is so bad that the rockers are gone, it's got to have a lot on the chassis too. Have the owner take pics of the whole undeside if you can't check it out for yourself. $4K is a great deal if the rust can be stopped/controlled, but if not I would pass.

i am going to look at it tommarow. I will bring my creeper and do some investigating! thanks, for the info. I was just hoping this might have been common if the running boards held the salt up in there.
