3rd gen seat question...

Ok, so I have a 98 sr5 and I'm looking for some leather seats for it. I found some options online but they're pretty pricy. Now I found a real great deal for some limited seats. But they're motorized... I can't find any threads about this, but can I take the base from my cloth seats and mount the limited seats. I don't want to do any wiring for the motors or anything, I basically want to swap the bases around.


Has anyone done this? Can it be done?

I just wired in some leather power seats in to my base model 1999 - it is not that much work.

I ended up doing it a little different since I had a base model and used a splice to power the seats from the always on power wire. If you grab the wiring that goes with them it is pretty easy - took me about 2 hours total including a run to the parts store for a splice.

Oh man now you got me thinking... I wanted to do it the easy way but if it's pretty easy I might just pull the trigger and try to wing it myself.

It isn't that bad - especially if you grab the plugs and as much wiring as you can get out of the donor vehicle. If you need any help just PM me and I will pull mine back apart and take some pics.

So I pulled the trigger and got my hands on some limited seats, I'm gonna try to do the wiring on my own and hopefully have them on by next week
