3rd gen stereo intall questions

I used the search feature and couldn't find what I am looking for.
I am trying to install a stereo into my 98 4Runner and am having no success at the moment. I was able to get the pieces around the e-brake and shifter off, but the big radio bezel is giving me problems. It seems that the climate control piece is trying to come out with it. Is there anything special you have to do to get this piece off or should I just gently pull harder. Thanks in advance!!

before gettin the big radio bezel, u have to take out the climate control , all u have to do is pull the plastic knobs and then usin a flat head, pop the plate off the control, then u remove 2 screws, one at top left and bottom right and then u can take out the bezel hope that helps
