3rd Gen Stuff

I'll be getting home in the beginning of July from my hike. I'm going to start full swing into 3rd Gen parts. As always I'll have my swaybar links, and I'll have a group buy for them. I'll also have the Drifter cb antenna mount with the T4R logo into them.

I'm planning some new items as well. I'll be making a 3rd Gen roof rack that'll be a bolt together or weld together. The rack will be in either steel or aluminum, and that's your choice. Another item that I'm going to start making are in-cab winch controls (details to come). The controls will fit into a factory location, and will have no exposed wires. Many other things are being planned, but the biggest is going to be a boxed UCA for 3rd Gen's.

If there are things you'd like to see for 3rd Gen's please let me know. I'll see what I can do about making it.

Any more info on this roof rack? I can't weld really, but I can definitely tighten some bolts and nuts.

Excited for an aluminum roof rack, which I would rather be welded together than bolted. Are you going to offer it welded already or only a diy kit?

The bolt together will have nut inserts in the cross bars. I'll most likely use flat head going through the 2 main side pieces. That way you'll have a flush look. I still have some more planning, and need to prototype one. I'm also thinking about having lighting options on them.

X2 on the rack! Full length would be nice!

Thinking about a half and full length rack.

Hike....hahahaha....

Still just a hike even at 2189.2 miles. Only got 700 more as of today.

Most likely both.

oh id like to see, are we talking himes? and uniballs? how much?

No heims on these. They'll have uniballs and either poly bushings or Summit Flex Joints on the frame side. I'm hoping in the $500-$600 range.

Glad to hear your coming back soon.
Looking forward to Front and Rear Swaybar links and maybe some Rear UCA and LCAs.

Very cool! I was going to order an in-cab winch control from 12Voltguy, but I'll hold off so I can see what you come up with. I'd much rather support a forum member.

What about the lca's to get rid of the factory ball joints?

I'll be working on those as well.

Good.. I've always wondered why no one offers an aftermarket mid-travel LCA that allows the use of stock cv lengths. Not everyone wants all the extra modification and the price tag it takes to go long travel. Will have to keep my eye out for the lca's.

We'll have to see how cost effective they'll be. Not sure if I want to go with a rebuildable ball joint, and use uniballs.

LCA would be nice.

You still looking for the rear control arms too?

For the roof racks, are you planning on making them a flat rack, or a rack similar to the Whitson, Gobi, etc where it's kinda like a shallow basket?

Completely different from them. I'll be using flat steel/aluminum for the sides. The sides will have a couple 90 degree bent tabs on them. The tabs will have bolts holes in them, and you'll be able to use the factory tracks for mounting. The full length will have adjustable legs in the front for support. The cross bars will be round, and I'm going to try to make those bars work with various aftermarket attachments like Yakima. Hope this helps, but I'll have some pictures of it in July. All new hardware will be provided as well.

Alright, I think I kinda understand haha. I can see what it looks like in July. I probably won't get a rack before then unless a good deal comes up.

I'm probably the only one but I would love to see a set of dual ditch light brackets for our vehicles. CBI already makes single's but I really want to run a set of pods out and down and a set of pods straight forward.
Again probably the only one interested in this but here's a pic for reference, I think I've seen them side by side as well but I couldn't manage to find a pic at the moment. *excuse the heep but these people need to invent ways to spend money on their pavement princesses*

Look up some of the 4th gen threads about the CBI brackets. I think one of the earlier ones where the guy was testing them out for CBI he was able to mount another one next to the regular one for the side by side look. I think he just drilled a hole in the bracket. There's also a 5th gen that has them mounted on top of each other. For that one look in the most recent Shrockworks group buy thread.
