3rd Gen Suspension Help

Hi. I am a newbie to the forum.

I have a 1996 4Runner SR4 4wd. I primarily bought it to pull a boat/trailer that weighs 4,000 lbs fully loaded. I have been researching shocks and coils on here but I’m confused over what would be a good setup for me. I see a lot of posts about Tacoma and FJ coils, lifts and shocks.

Here is my question:
What shock and coil combinations would stabilize my 4runner while towing 4,000 lbs? I want to reduce rear end sag as much as possible. Ride is secondary to towing. A slight lift, 1"-2", would be nice but not necessary. I don’t take it off road much. An occasional dirt road is about it.

Finally, I am on a budget of $600.

Please offer any suggestions as to what equipment I can install on my 4runner to help it tow better.

Thanks in advance.

I would say airbags would add the most stability. If you search the 3rd gen section for "towing" I am sure you can find tons of info.
