3rd Gen T4R - Clean spoiler / interior

A few questions regarding my 2002 4Runner:

1. What is the best way to clean/restore the "black" color back to the rear spoiler? I have tried exterior products , but does not seem to do the job. Leaves a white haze.

2. Will a product such as ScratchX work for the center console plastic areas? I have some minor scratches by the shifter and cup holders.

3. Driver/passenger door arm rests - fabric material has worn down and looks bad. I would like to replace, but was wondering if you can get vinyl or leather replacements?

Thanks in advance.

I'm going to re-spray my rear spoiler before fall so I'll post pics.

I've tried several things also and nothing on the surface works and really the only option is to lightly sand it down and respray a flat black and then spray a semi-gloss clear coat to restore it to close to new.

It is an easy removal and the sanding is also a simple job since it's pretty much just one big flat piece.

Scratch X might damage the plastic so read what you can find and try it on a less conspicuous spot. My guess it's not for plastic since it might not blend into the plastic the way it can on a painted surface.

Let us know.

I also saw a product from Meguiers called "PlasticX", I wonder if it will work, or if it is the same product with a different label.

I have seen threads with others using it on the exterior such as a tail light lens with pretty good results. Thought it might help with the interior. I will try it and let you know.

Thanks for the reply.

"PlasticX" is for gettign scratches/fog out of clear plastic like the head assemblies --- its not for painted plastic. I think it will make if far worse. I too am disappointed in the paint used on the plastic.
