From how you are describing your set up, i have my belt routed the exact same way. I originally had it like the second picture (and how it was meant from the factory), but switched it so that A - it cleared a bolt a little better above the crankshaft pulley and B - it seems to "wrap" around the alternator pulley a little more.

Hey Buster!!! Who said you could gank all my pictures??? That's my engine, and my airbox I see in those pictures!

You're gettin' sued pal.

No.. really though. The belt routing depends on which tensioner you have. You and Ripcord are using the old style static idler pulley. The tension on your belt is set by your alternator adjustment.

I am running the updated dynamic tensioner. On my setup, the tensioner assembly provides the proper belt tension, not the alternator.

Yours is setup just the way it's supposed to be for the tensioning arrangement you have installed. If you want it to look like mine, you'll need to go drop some coin on the dynamic tensioner kit from TRD.

Lol sorry I knew I should have given you credit but I was looking at your build thread which is damn awesome just like I want mine sometime in the future, but thanks for the explanations that clears it up and makes me feel better thanks

FYI... see that big metal plate bolted to the front right hand side of your engine under the front of the S/C? That plate has your idler pulley attached to it... the belt goes down, then around and under the idler pulley, then over the alternator pulley...

Notice on mine... No plate... only the dynamic tensioner....you can see it at the bottom edge of the picture to the right hand side of the upper radiator hose.

And this sticker... indicates the proper belt routing with the dynamic tensioner, not your setup.

Right on man. Nice purchase on the S/C'd 4Runner by the way. You will definitely enjoy it.

Also, it wouldn't hurt to show off some pictures of the whole truck.

I removed the towing thing as yall can see it was all rusted but everything under the truck is in perfect shape no rust in frame or any.vital spots its 4x4 with center diff lock so far it has performed awssome off road it has climbed some very steep hills and through rough terrain I just need the tundra brake upgrade cause they are all warped and shake when I brake

The only thing that really worried sme was the mileage it has 210k but it has the timing belt at 170k but im as happy as it get I couldnt have bought a better car

Looks like a nice truck, and I'm glad to hear you removed that rusty tow hitch. 210k miles is alot, but if it was well maintained you shouldn't have too many issues.
