1. I understand the headlights were improved in 1999 4runners. Are the Sylvania Silverstars still a worthwhile upgrade in these later (99-02) 4runners? Or does this mainly apply to the 96-98s?
2. I ran Toyota oil filters in my 22RE 1st gen. "Don't fix it if it ain't broke." Is there any reason I should consider some other brand of oil filter in my 2.7L 3RZ motor?
3. Can anyone tell me, even approximately, how much the stock bumpers on 99+ 4runners weigh? My 2000 has the later "fat lip" front bumper, and an add on rear receiver hitch that hangs pretty low. I want to get some aftermarket bumpers with better approach and departure angles, but I'd like to try and avoid adding significant extra weight. (I realize that any decent aftermarket bumper will weigh more than the stock ones.)
