3rd gen wheels on a 4th gen?

Have the opportunity to trade 2 KC's for a set of 1998 SR5 Rims, was wondering if these have the same lug pattern as the 4th gen. If not look for them for sale here soon

The lug pattern is the same. The potential problem is will it clear the brakes. Not all 4th gens can use 16" rims.

I gotcha, so would the best way be to use a buddy's 4th gen and mount them to see if they will clear?

I would check how big your brakes on. if the rotors have a 12.6 inch diameter they should fit. If it has a 13.3 inch diameter then it would not fit. I'm not sure on the offsets and other details of the 3rd gen rims but the brakes would be your biggest hiccup.

The only thing to be concerned about is brake clearance; if your 4R came with 16" wheels, then a set of 16" wheels from a 3rd gen will fit.

If your 4R came with 17" wheels and is a Sport or Limited version, then you may have the larger brakes, and 16" wheels won't fit.

Just the presence of 17" wheels on the 4R from the factory doesn't mean you have larger brakes though -- my 4th gen SR5 came with 17" wheels and the standard (smaller) brakes. I use 16" wheels from a 3rd gen (actually, IIRC, from a Tacoma) for my snow tires.

I dont have a runner, im currently shopping for one and its proving to be a very tall order
