HI everyone, I've been looking to find if any year 3rd gens came wth a/c for the second row. I've got a little one and it takes a while to cool the back down in Phoenix (especially in a 97 w/o the console mod).

thanks for your help.

Nope. Just rear heat, no A/C.

That does kinda suck though. I remember even the 95-01 Explorers even having rear ac. Toyota should have implemented that with the 99 mid gen refresh.

Buy a remote car start and cool it down before you get in it.

Buy a 4th generation 4runner or Sequoia.

Move the kid up front.

Buy an after market AC unit and have it installed in the back.

Trunk AC Add on

Or go the cheaper route...

Thanks for all the info. That roof mount unit could be hidden on a rack behind some lights and in front of a spare tire. haha.

"2-55" AC is free. Roll "2" rear windows down and set the cruise on "55". haha

Tinted windows and a folding front window screen helps keep the vehicle cooler so it isn't as hard to get cooled down.

These are my 2 preferred methods here in TX.
