I wasn't too sure the mirrors would be helpful at first, but after backing up a few times, they're very convenient. My garage is 90 degrees from a driveway I share with about 20 other people. That means cars pass by all the time. The mirrors have helped me see if there are any cars crossing by before I even back out. I do wish I had gotten JBL because the sound system sounds like it's missing something in the back, but I don't think I could give up the mirrors.
Never even notice the headlights -- you get lots more reflection and glare from the rearview mirrors.nh00gts said:
Keep in mind that they are not for backing up, they are really to check for movement in the areas you can't see by turning your head. Generally, that means 90 degrees to either side of the direction you're backing out.
The back-up camera is a fish eye type camera that picks up whats off to the sides as well as showing things up to 15-20 feet directly behind the truck. There is no blind spot to this thing in terms of backing up.

Also its not frame on/off. Its a smooth all-time (real-time) viewing camera. (located above and to the left of the license plate.) I had my wife move all around the back of the truck to look for blind spots and wasn't able to see one.

Yea, the manuafacturer is going to say don't use it because of liability issues but after briefly checking out the back of the truck when I go into reverse I put my eye on the NAV screen for backing up. Works GREAT!!!

I paid invoice for the truck and all add-ons and am glad I got the NAV. We don't use the NAV too much (we turn off the screen for daily errands) but for $2207 the system with the 10 speaker sound system and back-up camera was worth-it. Kinda unhappy about the sound system (wife is not) but I'm into music and would've like a beefier system. Since I'm not the primary driver I can live with the stereo system. When we take out of town trips I'm sure the NAV will be very convenient to use. Especially using the points of interest feature. (for gas stops and eating)

Heck, I figured I'd be dumping more than this into an aftermarket sound system for her on a lessor equipped truck so what the hey!!! DVD NAV, Camera, 10 speaks, $2200 bucks? Sounds good to me.
