3rd row seats on sport ed??????

hey guys. i just purchased an 04 sport edition and i wanted to know if there was any way i can add 3rd row seating in it. i dont really care if i have to buy another color of seats. i was reading somewhere on this site that if you have the 10 speaker JBL setup that its not possible. please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No. There is no way. It is only available on the SR5 or the Limited. I think it is because of the X-REAS suspension on the Sports. It is also not available with the JBL 10 speaker system. You have to have the standard radio.

Actually has nothing to do with the X-REAS, as you can get the limited with the X-REAS with the 3rd row. Has to do with what they wanted to release. Sports Edition doesn't sound right with 3rd row, and for a while they were releasing all Sports Editions with the 10 speaker system (which eliminates the seatbelt anchor for the 3rd row) and the sunroof (which also eliminates the 3rd row). If you have a sunroof, reduce the headroom for the 3rd row from 32 inches down to about 30 inches.

If you wanted to tear out the two pillar speakers in the rear, tear out the rear plastic sidewalls, install anchors into the floor and sidewall areas for seatbelts and seats to bolt into, the order the plastics, seats, and seatbelts, you could probably do it.... The real question would be how much are you willing to spend to get that? say another 4,000? That's probably what you will spend getting all of the stuff together to re-fit your truck.

You are right. I heard that when they were first introducing the third row seats. I just configured a limited with 3rd row seats and X-REAS on edmunds and it accepted it.

I've seen a post on this before. Do a search. As I recall, there are aftermarket options, but they were all rear facing seats. Might have been on yotatech. I thought about, but until we get a fix for the rotten egg thing, yikes, I wouldn't put anybody I loved back there.

Unless you are transporting midgets, skip the back seat. Try one at a dealership and you'll understand. Two minutes sitting still can be brutal, can you imagine twenty minutes or more on a bumpy road???
