3rd rows for our 4runners....

Was wondering if anybody has seen or have a 3rd row seat to our year of 4runners. Actually having a third baby and I need another seat. No funds to buy bigger vehicle and I love our 4runner. I was thinking of finding a matching bucket seat matching the fronts and securing it down with a seatbelt for a car seat. What do you think? It has to be safe of course. Thanks

Scotty from Addicted Offroad installed them, he did a great job i want to say they were jeep seats? but yeah search YT for the install.

theres a company out there that makes and sells 3rd row seats for a 3rd gen. the face backwards so the occupants sit facing out the back window. no idea off hand who makes it

Rock Slide youre awesome. One of the things I know I will need is a 3rd row one day. My wife and I think back to the days when we were kids 25 yrs ago when the mercurygrand marquis wagons had those rear facing seats and how cool they were to ride in. This type of seat would prevent me from ever having to get rid of my runner. I have been researching the hell out of little passenger this morning and finding good stuff. I think rear facing is the only way to go in order to allow good access. I will be calling the company later today and will post any add'l info they tell me for anyone who is interested. I am also going to seriously consider a new strong bumper to further protect rear passengers.

Someone on the local craigslist has one for sale for a 2nd gen runner that I'm sure could be made to fit in 3rds.

Depending on your budget, you can source factory 3rd row seats from overseas. They were an option on Hilux Surfs. My service manual has them pictured.

after looking at the cargo area and doing a few measurements, i cannot imagine it would be comfortable or practical for anyone no matter how small to be back there. Ive resigned myself to the fact that when child #2 comes along I will be switching (notice i did not say upgrading) to a sequoia. At that time I will gladly sell my runner to someone who can appreciate a toyota with significant mods. Until that time, gonna enjoy the hell out of it.

Not sure I follow your logic there. Two children can sit side by side in the second row. Easily.
