3rdgen replace rear OEM coils & shocks BUT

I spent hrs nearly a day reading every thread, post, anything I could find but nadda for my deal, some help would be greatly appreciated.
1997 SR5 3.4 5spd, came with 15" BUT got 16" b4 I bought it.
Rear sag recall already done in 2002.

I DO NOT WANT TO LIFT my ride, like it as is/was pre-sag.
Minimal load hauling, min trailering, min offroad, this is a long distance ddriver.

Must handle well at higher speeds, turnpike etc.
Want some rake as in rear a tad higher. Stock is fine for the little off road I do.
All but one or two threads offer OEM replace info BUT since it went to 16" I am fkd trying to source part #s that way!

All the other posts have lift info, mods, again, just want to duplicate what I got. I dont know what previous owner did, since it has 16" wheels, should I measure anything else like if it has small body lift? check or measure anything else first?
If I just replace using OEM # it will be for the 15" wheels right?
I want to stay OEM + the 16" wheels ride as is.

I want to start with just rear coils and shocks now with eventually some day replace fronts.
I looked at more threads than I can count on this and fkn head is spinning with coil and shock#s as most are for mods/lifts.

Plan to keep it stock as it is and drive it till my death, love it, 286k on her and she has never failed me, better than any woman I ever had.:hail:

Wondering go with the 99 taller coils?
A different year make OEM # to make up for the 16" wheels?
Part#? Cheapest place? Link?

Shocks to match?

I love the 5th gen 4Runner rear coils for stock-height rigs. They are a higher spring rate, and provide a VERY nice ride and handle awesome. Paired with the OEM Tokico black, I couldn't be happier. The nice thing about them is that you can almost always find them cheap on your local Craigslist, and likely with real low miles.
Here's my '97 with 2014 SR5 rear coils and factory 222k mile 2001 front coils-

For the rake you want maybe look for the '99 OEM Tall coils. The '99 was an inch taller then the other years.

15" & 16" wheels don't matter. They all came with the same springs & shocks except for '99. Only the 16" 4x4's in '99 came with the tall springs, 15" RWD came with "regular" springs.

You said you wanted a little rake, get the OEM 99 talls (Not Moog! they sag quickly) with stock 99 shocks for the rear & get new OEM spring/struts for the front.

Cheapest place to buy OEM is usually Camelback Toyota in AZ. Free shipping over $150.

In PA, you want to check Conicelli outside Philly ( partznet.com). They want to be the Camelback of the East--they will price match Camelback or anybody else including shipping and you will get it a lot faster. Camelback free shipping takes forever from AZ to the East Coast.

Since you have the chrome fender moldings, you have a 16" wheel truck. Your door sticker will have the 15" wheel specs on it, but that was a tax/import trick that Toyota played. Essentially all the 4Runners were shipped to the US with 15" wheels, then the 16's where port installed...

The only real difference between 15" and 16" wheel 4Runners is the brake size due to the different tire diameters between the two trucks.

Go withe OEM shocks or Bilstein 4600's. OEM '99 'tall' springs, 4th gen 4Runner, 5th gen 4Runner or FJ Cruiser rear coils will all work and give between 1" and 2" of rear lift from an un-sagged rear height.

Thanks, it really is the ticket.
I am running the stock Tokico black shocks from the 2001 I bought. Did I say I love the setup? [emoji23]
I honestly rally my rig hard(different than abusing it, and I also keep up with maintenance), and it handles REALLY well for what it is. I have the panhard bar raised up 2" on the axle-side, so that helps with lessening body roll as well.
A lady test drove it last night, and she wasn't very knowledgeable when it came to cars- at all. Even still, on the test drive, she mentioned how "it feels like it has a lot less sway than other 4Runners" she has test driven. That wasn't instigated by me whatsoever, so I thought that was pretty impressive.
