4.0 1GR-FE Stroker Crank Shaft

Is it a good idea? Can the block accept clearancing? Has someone done it? With an overbore, what's a good displacement? 4.5L? 5.0L?

The idea is V8 power with V6 packaging. No 4.7L timing belt or engine swap hassels. Not selling your current 4R for a V8 model, etc.

Those sizes won't work with our motors. At most you can do an overbore of 0.9 or less. The cylinder liners are like 5 sheets of paper thick. Sleeving the engine block - XR-Underground now you can get a built motor from LC engineering but it'll cost a pretty penny. also it will depend wither or not your going to run boost. also if your going to be making alotta power than a valve body upgrade to your trans should be in your future. TTC performance makes some good cams for our motors but you might have to get stronger connecting rods. So much good stuff but costs so much money.

if it's anything like the 2gr, I agree, the cylinder sleeve is just not thick enough to do much. We have one stripped down right now for a possible build-up when the MR2 gets a boosted V6.
