4.0 V6 0-60 question...

Does anyone have a clue what the V6 will do 0-60? ('05 2wd)

I already tried the search mode but found no concrete answers.

I'm just curious. I drove a '07 Mountaineer with the 292 hp 4.6 the other day and it got me to wondering about it again. Hard to say which feels stronger.

Unofficially - using my wristwatch as a chronometer - and using 2wd mode, my 2005 V6 SR5 did zero to sixty in eight seconds flat. Hard to think about it, but it seemed to stay in second gear a long, long time and kicked up to third after I had passed 60 mph!

Before I bought my 06 V6 4runner I had a new V8 Mountaineer for a weekend and then I also had the 4runner for a few days and to be honest they felt about the same power wise.

The last 4Runner tested by Car and Driver hit 60 in 7.2 seconds. It was an '05 V8 sport. I'd expect similar results from a 2WD V6, provided it has the 5 sp auto. Bear in mind, C&D will do whatever it takes to extract the best acceleration number, clutch dumps at varying rpm's and brake torque an auto trans. They also perform two way tests to compensate for wind and correct their numbers to standard atmospheric conditions, so all the data they produce can be compared to other tests they run.

Don't know about 0-60 but some guy on here with 4.0v6 and 4wd hit some 15.9's in the 1/4. I have brought mine to the strip, but was towing something so I didn't run it.

wow, i never think of that number at all, low 7's is very good for a SUV. but i don't really care since the main purpose of 4R is not for racing anyway, but good to know it is fast. hahahaha....
