4.7 V8 oil pump replacement - Help

I totally screwed up and stripped the tension idler bold when doing a timing belt. Now I am trying to get the oil pump off with no luck. How do I get the oil pump off the front of the engine? I hope I don't have to pull the engine.

Maybe you could use a helicoil or other thread repair instead of replacing the cover.

I would see about maybe the helicoil, but it should just unbolt from the engine according to the diagrams I looked at.
