hey so ive been hearing a lot of talk about this. and im very intreasted. is it possible to drop in a 06'- 09' 4runners V8 engine into a 05'-09 Tacoma 4x4?? if so what do you need to do to do it sucessfully and keep the 4x4. is it worth it in thorey to do? like will it be a bad @ss thing to rip you new ones, or would you be better off just putting a super charger, or turbo on it?

any info on this swap, or modification is greatly appreciated. if you have first hand experience then write, if you know some one ask for me then write. thanks.

Go to Tacomaworld.com I've seen a few threads over there about this. I've even read a thread over there where someone wanted to put in a 5.7 from the Tundra into their Tacoma. I don't think thats possible though.

Why not just buy a tundra? or if you want a motor swap put a proper diesel in it, and tune it. Getting a V8 Taco is like the worst of both worlds, small truck compared to Tundra so not as useful, and uses alot of amount of fuel in the process, while the rest of the truck isnt rated for the towing the tundra is so no extra gains there...

I completely agree.

do you guys mean a old tundra? cus i dont like the huge new ones, i want a small truck with power. thats the whole reason for the swap. i dont really like the interior on the old tundras though. so thats a bumer.:dammit:

X2!!! You would be much better off with doing a diesel swap than a V8 swap plus you will get better mpg than the V6
