You can get a Coilover setup and crank it up pretty high, but your ride quality will suffer. Anything over 3-3.5" needs to have some modifications unless you want to face the issues when they arise. Such as the CV boots, horrible ride quality, etc.
I think the issues is with the front. I have 4+ in the back with a cut down spacer and Ole Man 3 in heavy duty spring. Kind of south of the border (rear jacked) but you should have seen it before I cut down the spacer. I used the table saw to cut about and inch off the spacer - if you look close you can see it above the left coil.
Here is a side shot to see the jacked up nature of my rig. Not the best pix cause the KTM blocks the back but you get the idea. Loaded up with gear and the bike the back sits just above level.

Like most my mods this one is pretty red neck or simple - depends on how you view it. There is a stock hole on bottom of the frame rail and then a small rectangle opening on the inner side. I droped a nut in the hole in the side and held it in place with my fat finger then inserted the bolt from the bottom. After a few spins it held it self. I can pivot the light 360 and up and down. Great for backing up or around camp.
The light was $14 from Auto Zone - nothing fancy but I did go through 2 round tractor lights before this one - they were collecting water in the rubber housing. I like the round look better but this one throws more light.
Here is a pix of the switch - it lights up when in the on position.
