4 low IS engaged, beeping during middle of hill climb

Hello. I had my 4runner out and was going up a pretty steep hill. The 4runner was being a champ (3rd gen LTD). I have some good experience with running it in 4low, so I know it was engaged. I went over a rather rough part going uphill, and I suddenly hear 5 beeps, which were rather loud. I immediately checked for any lights- none on the dash. I stopped mid hill (which was a bit more flat where I stopped) and it was still engaged in 4low. Does this mean my 4runner slipped out of 4low for a second? Something else? Also... I had my cell phone with me... and it was in my pocket... I have never heard a roaming sound and not 100% sure it did not come from my phone.... :|

EDIT: also to add, it didn't sound like the muted tone of the taction control like when slipping on ice. It was a lot more loud. Kinda scared me when it happened. haha.

Maybe a low-oil warning?? I used to hear beeping alarms on an older VW I had when I would corner aggressively.

I dont believe it was this, as I did not see any indicators on the dash for it. Also, I changed and checked the oil right before going out.

its the traction control, the louder beeping is the vtrac working, the less loud beeping is the vsc working. I think the vtrac only beeps after its been used for more than a few seconds.
