4 Wheelin' in N.C.?

So I just started my weeks vacation in Charlotte, N.C. (south of city - suburbia to be a little more precise). It's a week long vacation visiting family with no real itinerary, and I was wondering if some of you more local guys can suggest some places to go within a reasonable driving distance.

Uwahrrie is close!

If you're in Charlotte, the Uwharrie National Forest isn't too far (about 90minutes). Mapquest "Eldorado, NC" which is a small town near the entrance to the NF. There is the Eldorado Outpost where you buy your $5 pass to the OHV part of the forest.

My T4R is completely stock with the exception of 265/70R17's and I removed the running boards. I high centered often on the fuel tank skid plates. I just finish beating out the dents today. With your Daystar lift you'll probably clear everything.

I recommend that you stay off the trails Daniel & Dutch John and use the bypasses that you see on Rocky Mountain Loop.

Your T4R will do great and you'll have lot of fun.

Thanks for the tip! Just checked out your pics and mapquested it, looks like a good trip I'll definitely be trying to do.

I was looking forward to maybe doing the famed Tellico, but the tree huggers have succeeded in closing that for at least two years it seems. I would've thought there would've been more places to try when searching the net for trails to do, but not as many as I would've believed.

Thanks for the tip for UNF! Just got back a little while ago. Did the Rocky mtn loop and the slate pass(?). No probs at all. Bumped into some young guys out for the day and kept up with their rigs, didn't have to bypass at all. Only time I bottomed was over those berms I think like two or three times. Will definitely have to do again when I visit again!

Which Daystar lift are you running? Sounds like whatever you have is the perfect setup for Uwharrie.

I just finished removing the skidplates and banging out all of the dents, especially the gas tank skid.

Just the regular 2.5/1.5" lift with the BFG A/T 265/70-17's
