I recently took a bit of a road trip over the Memorial Day holiday and suprisingly I was able to do it on one tank, with room to spare to drive to work and home yesterday.
I traveled from Denver to Steamboat Springs, drove around Steamboat for two days, drove back to Denver, drove to work and back yesterday for a grand total of 401.3 miles, and my trip computer still said I had 10 miles until empty. I used 87 octane (mid-grade) fuel. I filled up last night with 20.66 gallons equating to a gas mileage of 19.42 mpg for the trip, which consisted of about 80 percent highway/20 percent city driving. It should be noted, however, that the highway miles were mountain driving half on interstate, half on two-lane highway. I had to go over two major mountain passes each direction (which never saves gas). Plus, I drive like a maniac, passing people left and right so I'm very impressed. I'd say I averaged 70-75 mph on the highway the whole trip.
