After seeing evryone else do it I took off my running boards today... new tires to come next. She seems to be running good after the new fuel injectors, coils, plugs, plug wires and fuel filter. Gonna try for the budget builds like a lot of the other members on here. was thinking of a lift but my 180k 99 springs seem to be holding up well, may just re-shock, any suggestions on shocks for a good ride?

Nice looking truck. I'd search for some '99 Tall springs though, they can be found cheap enough. For shocks, I love the Bilstein HD's. AJUSA.com usually has deals on all 4 for around $260 or so shipped. I think you'll regret not doing springs while you're already doing shocks. Especially if you go to a taller, more aggressive tire.

true... found some LC coils for the rear, would like to put the toytec coilovers on the front.

Good looking T4R. Nice choice on removing the running boards. I want to do it, but the GF needs them to get in! Who knows, the Running Board Fairy may make a visit to reclaim them! Hummm....

Looks great! I am still thinking about taking them off, but the same boat. Girlfriend uses them to get it.

I pulled mine, and have been in trouble ever since!! Not only from my wife, but my 2 daughters cant even get in anymore without help. My 5 year old actually fell trying to get in a few weeks ago and hurt herself. Talk about feeling bad. BUT, I have my rock sliders ready to install tomorrow, so hopefully they will help them out a tad!

ya pulling the running boards off it is worth it. completely changes the appearances of your 4runner. i did mine friday and thew some new tires and absolutely love the new look. dig the green t4r

Tundra TRD strut/coil assembly from a gen 1 tundra up front and OME 906s in back.

4k as in that's what you paid for it? If so, that's a great deal! Looks super clean. If she misses the running boards, weld a set of sliders up in there. Form and function.
