I bought an 06/6cyl/SR5 over the weekend and have been doing some heavy reading on this forum. (the vehicle is certified from a dealer I used to work for. Their reputation is so good that even after I was fired from sales I still bought 3 vehicles from them)
Problem:
I was testing the 4x4 system after I read threads about engaging it periodically to keep the actuator from sticking. Going into 4HI there was a delay, but after I did it a few times 4HI started engaging within 3-5 seconds. My experience was the same with 4LO, but it seemed really rough..... I did not feel the torque one would associate with 4LO (I was driving straight on dry pavement and did not break 10mph. I did this three times with a duration of about 10 seconds driving in 4LO). Honestly, it felt sluggish like power was not transferring fully, and shifting was pretty rough while in 4LO.
I don't expect anyone to diagnose a vehicle from the information above, but could someone give some info on what to ask the service center to look at? I would love to hear what some members think the problem might be.
