Everytime I step out of the 4Runner to close the door I get a major shock. Its come to a point where I use my elbow to shut the door because the shock actually hurts.

Anyone else experience this?

Its a common thing. You need to earth yourself on part of the truck before you step out. Do a search, you will find threads explaining various peoples "techniques" for avoiding the shocking experience.

It's due to static electricity that builds up while your sliding all over those SE cloth seats. Try spraying some of that anti static cling stuff on your seats to neutralize all the static buildup on your seat.

Just touch a metal part of the door BEFORE you get out and your feet touch the ground. I usually just touch the unpainted brass colored peice in the door's latch, step out, no shock.
