4runner 2002 Exhaust?

I want to get a new exhaust for my car, but i dont know what to get. i know i want Flowmaster, but which one has the lowest sound? as of right now everything is stock, so would i have to buy some extra stuff like a CAT or muffler? sorry i am a "newbie" about this.

If you are set on Flows then I would get the 40 series. You might want to look into a new high flow cat too while your at it.

Are you going dual exit?

well i like ur sounds, but can i get the sound lower. are the 10 series lower?

With duals you have two pipes coming out of the back or side. With a single you only have one, like yours is currently.

Sloan has a dual set up with them exiting on the sides and Jason Burtman has a dual set up with them exiting at each side of the hitch.

Some people say that you lose a little low end power when you go with duals, but I'm not sure. Some people also prefer dual to single and vice versa. I believe if you go with duals then you would have to move your spare tire.

yea you would be right about the spare, i havent got a hitch on my 4runner but i am getting one for christmas so i'm hoping the pipes want be a problem.

i'm not even sure if they have a 10 series? i know the 50 series is not as loud as mine but people say its probably gonna get you a even lower sound.

i really want dual exauhst, but isnt there a way to bend the pipes around the spare?

an now another question, now i am in debate with the 40series and the 44 series, which one to choose?

also its really not a true "dual" pipe systeml, its actually just a single in, dual out. just one muffler, two pipes.

why should i get a new cat converter, what does it do, and if i get a new one, which one should i get?

Not many people on here have a high flow cat. They pretty much just help with air flow. I don't think you will notice a big difference with one. If you are willing to drop all this money you should look into a cat back exhaust system.

what is a back cat, does it do the same thing? how much does it run?

Instead of replacing the cat and muffler separtely, a cat back system includes a cat and muffler AND new pipes. I honestly don't know what the results are like, but I think it would be good to look into.
