4runner 2nd gen axle swap

G'day folks.
I've been wondering for a while, what axle I should put under in the front. The ideal would be LC70 front solid axle.

BUT, I was thinking of more like LC60 solid front/rear axle as they got a 9,5" diff in the rear and 8" diff in the front.

Now, my question is, has anyone here done this? If so, did you have to mix the suspension? Do the shaft ends fit? save the lenght of them.
And are there any problems that I should be aware of?

This is an amature forum. Axle swaps are a rarity....

The place you should venture to is www.pirate4x4.com search by getting a red star and www.ttora.com search is free for this and its free for www.marlin.com and www.yotatech.com

I do have an SAS but it is leaf. the LC axle is Linked with coils. If you plan on migrating that system you should look into the complete front upper and link geometry of the donor vehicle prior to deconstruction.

I've seen a few LC swaps done but the guys that do that do it out of the love for their trucks and to prove that it can be done. If you have to ask about it I'm gonna say that's not the one you want to use.

just get one out of an 84-85 truck and get a SAS kit from Marlin or Trail Gear and you'll have everything you need.

Btw, I wouldn't necessarily say this is an amateur forum, just that most of the posters here aren't in to heavy modifications like that. For stuff like that and heavy mechanical work I usually send people to yotatech. Pirate is nice to read on, but if you ask a question it usually becomes a flame fest.
